Privacy, terms and trademarks

Three short documents in one place. They cover what happens to an enquiry, the terms that apply when we quote, and the position on the trademarks and standards named across this site.

01 / Privacy

What happens to your enquiry

This site collects one thing: what you choose to send us. The enquiry form composes a message in your own mail client and sends it from your own address, so the form itself stores nothing on a server, and there is no database behind it holding your details.

What we hold

  • The content of your email: your name, company, address, the model list or specification you send, and anything else you include
  • Correspondence that follows from it, including quotations and order documents
  • Ordinary business records required for accounting and export documentation, where an order follows

What we do with it

  • Quote the enquiry, answer the question and administer any order that results
  • Prepare export documents where a shipment requires them
  • Nothing else. We do not sell, rent or trade enquiry data, and we do not add enquirers to a marketing list

Cookies, analytics and the model list

This site sets no advertising or analytics cookies and runs no third party tracking script. Fonts are loaded from a public font service, which means your browser makes a request to that service to display the page.

The model list feature, where you collect model designations as you move between product pages, uses your browser's local storage. That list stays on your own device and is only transmitted if you submit the form, at which point you can see exactly what is being sent. Clearing your browser data removes it.

Retention and contact

Enquiry correspondence is kept while the commercial relationship is live and for as long as accounting and export rules require afterwards. If you want your enquiry deleted, ask and we will delete it, unless a live order or a legal obligation requires us to keep it. Write to sales@ems-safety.com.

02 / Terms

Terms that apply to a quotation

Scope of supply

EMS-Safety supplies fire protection components. We do not design, install, commission, test or service fire protection systems, we do not act as the installing contractor of record, and we do not sign submittals on behalf of a system. Any statement on this site, or in a quotation, that describes components is a description of goods and not a design service.

Quotations

  • A quotation states the model designations supplied, the quantities, the price, the Incoterm, the lead time and the validity period
  • Where a request names a model designation we do not supply, the quotation either offers the equivalent we do supply, stated as an equivalent, or declines the line. It does not substitute silently
  • Prices are quoted in the currency stated and are subject to the validity period on the quotation
  • Lead times are quoted against the information available at the time and are confirmed on order acknowledgement

Delivery and risk

Delivery terms are as stated on the quotation. Under EXW and FOB terms, risk passes at the point defined by the applicable Incoterm. Where goods are carried charged or empty depends on the destination and on the transport rules that apply, and the quotation says which applies to your order.

Warranty and liability

  • Goods are supplied against the specification and the documents issued with the quotation
  • Where a manufacturer's warranty applies to a component, it is passed through to the buyer, and its term and conditions come from the manufacturer
  • We are not liable for system design, for the suitability of a component for a particular hazard, for installation work carried out by others, or for the consequences of a design decision taken by another party
  • Selection of a component for a particular application remains the responsibility of the designer of record and the buyer

Governing law

Unless a signed contract states otherwise, these terms and any supply from EMS-Safety are governed by the laws of the People's Republic of China, with disputes subject to the jurisdiction stated in the quotation.

03 / Trademarks and standards

How marks and standard numbers are used here

UL and the UL mark are trademarks of UL LLC. FM Approvals is a trademark of FM Global. Chemical agent trade names appearing on this site are trademarks of their respective manufacturers. Standard designations such as the UL, EN, NFPA and ISO numbers quoted on this site are the property of the organisations that publish them.

What a standard number on this site means

A standard number is used to identify the standard a component is tested or listed against. It is a reference, not a certificate. No certificate, listing or approval is claimed on this site without its own document number, its holder and its issuing body, and where a document number is not available for a model, no mark is shown for it.

Chemical trade names

Some clean agents are sold under registered trade names that identify a specific chemical. Those names are not standards and are not approval bodies, and a product cannot hold a listing against one. Where such a name appears on this site it says which agent a piece of equipment is built for and nothing further.

Who holds the listings

Listings and approvals for the components we supply are held by the manufacturer of record named on each certificate, at the manufacturing site named on it. EMS-Safety supplies those components and does not hold the listings. The certificate issued with a quotation names the holder.

Site content

The drawings, tables and text on this site are published to describe the components we supply. Drawings are indicative and dimensions are nominal unless a controlled drawing is issued with a quotation. Where a controlled drawing, a datasheet or a certificate disagrees with a page on this site, the controlled document governs.

Questions about any of this

Ask before you order

If a term, a document or a statement about scope needs clarifying, ask. It is cheaper to settle it in an email than in a purchase order.
